What it's about?
This beautiful stylized figure from an archaeological vessel found in Asanyamba, a far-flung site in El Salvador, dates back to an ancient agricultural tradition in the indigenous communities of the southeast Maya, such as the use of coa, or cane, to deposit the seed in the fertile soil. From the point of view of the Maya, this activity resembles the fecundity of the earth by the use of a stick inserted in the soil to deposit the seeds.
This beautiful and stylized art is based on a real pre-Hispanic vessel (Salua style, A.D. 600-900), sheltered on the Anthropology Museum in San Salvador, El Salvador.
This beautiful art print is created by our artists and archaeologists from Blueprinted Education.
