This beautiful instrument is considered by many as an old computer which allows you to determine the position and height of the star in the sky. It is in fact one of the most relevant historical instruments used in navigation, astronomy and science. This work shows an astrolabe sample similar to that used by Christopher Columbus in his first voyage in 1492. The original astrolabe, at least a replica, can be found in the Wharf of the Caravels Museum, in Huelva, Spain.
