This is another figure known as "The Swimmer," a well known character depicted many times in one of the most common pottery from the South-eastern of the Maya land. The swimmer is often found decorating ceremonial vessels from archaeological contexts, manufactured during the Late Classic period (AD 600-800). Experts believe that "the swimmers" refer to a character associated with water, although its real meaning is still a mystery. Many ancient artists of this region draw this figure in many different ways, but following the same stylistic pattern. For sure, this art was an ancient fashion painted with rustic instruments with a very well acceptance within Mayan society.
