Smoking is one of the oldest habits in America, perhaps has been existing at least since the 5th Century, during the Classic period in Mesoamerica. This habit can be found it on ancient Maya iconography showing images of priests or deities smoking rolled cigar. In other cases they also smoked pipes mixed with resin.
