This work is based on an anonymous picture taken between 1927 and 1929, in a San Salvador with little noise and chaos. The image shows a cyclist perhaps in his daily task, or perhaps on a ride, during an hour of commercial break in the old town of San Salvador. The little vehicular chaos of the time and the ancient architecture lead us to a city lost in its time and its form.
The image places us in the then Morazán street turned into an avenue in 1933, facing the north facade of the National Palace. On the left we notice the former National Post building and the University of El Salvador, the latter consumed by flames in 1955. On the right are Casa Dreyfus, May & Co., Mariano Cahen Store and M&R Cohn (the then German consulate), Slater House, Smith & Co. and Mata Centell House, businesses that eventually ceased to exist.
