What it's about?

This band shows, in a very "Copador" style created during the Late Classic (AD 600-800) in the southeastern Maya, a row of priests in reverence position, decorating a ceremonial vessel. Archaeologists and artists from Blueprinted Education have deployed this band showing the beauty of the natural colors and features used by the ancient craftsmen, in a salvaged vessel in a private collection in San Salvador, El Salvador. The simplicity of the drawings creates a true natural beauty, devised by those who live with the environment and its resources. The style "Copador" was an expanded fashion within the old art of this region, being strongly accepted and commercialized. Today, this style allows archaeologists and scholars to approach the cosmogony, clothing and traditions seen through ancient plastics.
